Kickstarter 30 day Project Information and News
Hollywood being chosen for the site of a permanent Memorial for George Harrison is fitting and appropriate. Hollywood is where George spent his last days, and Los Angeles is the music capital of the world where the Beatles became an unstoppable phenomenon and George worked frequently. Hollywood is where George's Memorial monument will stand forever, as the first and only cemetery Memorial anywhere in the world erected for George Harrison. The Memorial will host visitors from all over the US and world as people travel to the world class travel destination that is Los Angeles. This Memorial, being funded and placed by the public, a true expression of public appreciation.
GEORGE HARRISON MEMORIAL
MONUMENT & CONCERT PROJECT
George Harrison may just finally get a proper Memorial in Hollywood, California after years without any. The Liverpudlian guitar prodigy who will forever be the youngest Beatle, and who passed away in Los Angeles in 2001, never received a cemetery memorial or marker where fans & friends could visit in remembrance. In 2001 after George succumbed to cancer, he was taken to Hollywood Forever Cemetery (in the center of old Hollywood), where a cremation was performed but no memorial was constructed. Now, a 30 day Kickstarter project has put it directly to the fans whether the funds to construct a fitting memorial monument & tribute to George Harrison will be raised. If the Kickstarter effort hits it's mark (Kickstarter is all or nothing), a permanent memorial monument open to the fans without charge will be erected in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery where George was taken after passing away in 2001. There, his memorial will stand beside other entertainment industry icons such as Mickey Rooney, John Huston, Jayne Mansfield, Woody Herman, Janis Joplin, Cecil B. DeMille, Johnny Ramone, Ed Wood, Fay Wray, Rudolph Valentino & many others.

Hollywood Monument Site

The memorial location is set in a 60 acre private enclave of lush greenery right in the heart of old Hollywood 5 blocks from world famous Hollywood Boulevard.

The open spacious grounds of green lawn welcome as many as 5000 people who can attend live concerts under clear & warm skies, with LA foodtrucks galore.

The entry way into the memorial park's grounds passes by a massive stone building of spanish style dating to 1900, when travel in LA was by horseback.
